From 14. to 18.07.2025, the WeCodeTUgether summer camp took place again. In this week, 17 children between the ages of 9 and 13 were able to gain their first experience with programming as part of the TU Wien Informatics eduLAB. As such, they worked with the programs Scratch and Processing. Through their newly learned skills, they were already able to develop their first own games and test them together. The children discovered and solved emerging challenges with the help of our tutors at the eduLAB. Principles of Computer Science such as algorithms and encoding were also covered in short unplugged workshop sessions.
Through this programming week, the children were able to gain an understanding of encoding, computational thinking, the difference between block-based and text-based programming, and a first-hand experience for Java as a programming language.
