Festival Of Learning in South Korea

In July 2026, Selina Reinhard participated in the Festival of Learning in Seoul, South Korea, a joint event combining three major conferences: Artificial Intelligence in Education (AIED), Educational Data Mining (EDM), and Learning at Scale (L@S). The event brought together researchers from the fields of Learning Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, and Learning Technologies from around the world.

Besides inspiring paper presentations, the conference offered engaging panel discussions, keynote talks, and many opportunities to exchange ideas with researchers and PhD students from the international research community.

Selina presented her poster entitled “Extracting Curriculum Rules: Formal Modelling of the Study Entry and Orientation Phase” at the EDM. The work investigates how complex curriculum structures, such as the Austrian Study Entry and Orientation Phase (StEOP), can be formally represented to enable data-driven analysis. The poster presentation provided a valuable opportunity to discuss the approach with researchers from different backgrounds and gather feedback for future research directions.

Besides the conference programme, Selina got the chance to explore Seoul. The visit included discovering traditional temples, trying local food at street markets, and enjoying a view of the city from one of Seoul’s landmarks, the Lotte World Tower, one of the tallest buildings in the world.
