Upcoming courses in 2025W

Beginning in October, the LTeD Research Lab offers new courses to students of the Faculty of Informatics at TU Wien.

In the new course “Learning Technologies and Learning Analytics”, Master students receive the opportunity to dive into the fundamentals of learning technologies, learn about different technology used in education and explore the topic of learning analytics. The course offers a weekly lecture introducing concepts and theories as well as weekly to biweekly exercise/practical session challenging students to tackle learning analytics in a hands-on project. The course serves as an introductory course to the domain of learning technologies and learning analytics and prepares students to continue in our seminars and projects in the following semesters. Check TISS for more information.

Every semester, we offer the course “Informatics Didactics” (Didaktik in der Informatik, Abenteuer Informatik), a hands-on introduction to computer science education and didactics. In this course, students learn about the educational offerings in the context of the TU Wien Informatics eduLAB and how we implement Computer Science Unplugged methodology in our task design. Students first observe different workshops before they receive the opportunity to design their own task and test it with students to gather valuable feedback. Check TISS for more information.

Beyond these three courses, the LTeD Research Lab offers software projects (for the module “Project in Computer Science 1/2”) as well as Bachelor and Master thesis projects. Just contact us, if you are interested on a topic in the realm of learning technologies and computer science education.

Note: Even though there is a TISS listing, we do not offer the seminar “Seminar in Learning Technologies” in 2025W. This is merely for administrative purposes. So stay tuned for the seminar in 2026S.
