At WiPSCE 2026 in Aachen, our research lab presented three contributions (publications are still pending) addressing complementary challenges in K\u201312 computer science and AI education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The full paper \u201cTurning Students into Neurons \u2013 Evaluating an Embodied CS Unplugged Learning Activity on Neural Networks\u201d<\/em> by Lukas Lehner<\/a>, Selina Reinhard<\/a>, Martina Landman, and Ren\u00e9 R\u00f6pke<\/a> reported on the evaluation of an embodied CS unplugged activity (\u201cSeven Little Neurons\u201d), where students enacted the behavior of neurons in a feedforward network through physical interaction. Based on a study with 78 participants, the results showed a significant increase in students\u2019 self-assessed competence in \u201ccreating AI,\u201d alongside strong motivational effects attributed to the embodied learning design, while also pointing to the need for further qualitative investigation.
