{"id":1561,"date":"2024-10-25T09:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-10-25T07:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lted.se.tuwien.ac.at\/?p=1561"},"modified":"2024-11-25T18:09:06","modified_gmt":"2024-11-25T16:09:06","slug":"panel-discussion-ai-mistelbach","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lted.se.tuwien.ac.at\/index.php\/panel-discussion-ai-mistelbach\/","title":{"rendered":"Panel discussion on the future of work with AI"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>On October 24<sup>th<\/sup>, 2024, Lukas Lehner participated in a panel discussion on \u201cAI in the world of work and the economy\u201d at HAK\/HAS Mistelbach \u2013 an upper secondary vocational school in Lower Austria. The audience comprised all students from grades 3 to 5 (ages 17 to 19), who were eager to hear the panel\u2019s input on what their future workplace may look like given the advent of powerful generative AI systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before discussing student\u2019s questions with the other panellists, in a short opening talk, Lukas Lehner provided insight into how machine learning models learn from data by demonstrating the steps of a linear regression algorithm using gradient descent. Giving students a peek behind the scenes of an otherwise often mystified topic, such as AI, is part of the mission we pursue with our outreach activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A big thanks to the organizers for the invitation and a successful event.
